Life at Sea

I set sail in the calm Arabian sea hoping to see something exciting that will calm the adventurist within me. Though we don't have much time to spend on decks still I stole some glimpse of nature some hues of sky at dawn and dusk got lucky with the seagulls who always flew by teasing the sailors as well as reminding them of the free world outside the vessel. These are some of the few moments when I was mesmerized by nature and its beauty that lies in it.

It was early in the morning I was sitting beside my porthole and sipping on my cup of coffee tired of continuous night shifts when I saw the sun coming out of its adobe and with the red ball came all the streaks of rays penetrating the group of clouds, rejuvenating me from the core.

We were moving fast to deep in the sea and the sun was nowhere to be seen it has went back to its adobe but left its traces back to show us some beautiful hues just like us sailors who leave their near and dear ones for sometimes and only have their memories to cherish with and counting the days passing by to see them again.

After a long and tiresome  day's end I went to the deck to soak in some fresh air and then I had the rendezvous with this solitary sea gull flying high in the blue sky. It flew high, alone, sometimes gliding as if it had no destination, nothing else to do but to hang around. My mood dipped as I was listening to “nadan parindey ghar aa jaa” and missing my folk back home.

This early morning shot is a mixture of many stories a sleeping city , series of ships standing for the movement order its laziness all around yet the colour of the sky makes us awake. Its only nature knows how many colours it has in its store to paint the canvas called sky.

When i am exhausted after a grueling night shift i stand by my cabin's port hole to calm down myself  I see the tranquility of nature  its so calm so tender as if its telling all the exhausted sailors to calm down and take some rest. I guess for this effect only its called mother nature. For us who live in absolute hostility she is always soft and tender just like our moms back home.
